Foundry Services

Broady Foundry’s purpose built plant houses the latest induction furnaces and moulding equipment producing quality castings to the highest standard.  Using ingots of certified composition and melted under controlled conditions the castings produced are of the highest integrity.  Mechanical Tests and Chemical Analysis are carried out in strict accordance with the relevant Standards and for Class 1 and 2 items radiography is performed by an approved test house.

At Broady the foundry operation begins with a full pattern making service where skilled pattern makers interpret customer instructions and employ the latest techniques to manufacture the quality patterns required to produce quality castings.  Softwood patterns are produced for small batch castings while epoxy resin or metal patterns are recommended for larger volume work. 

 

 

In the foundry the castings produced range in size from a few grams to 200kg and in quantities of one to thousands.  Floor and bench moulding is carried out using CO2 or traditional Greensand techniques. 

Computer aided solid modelling is available to predict the casting process which, alongside an extremely experienced workforce, ensures an enviably low scrap rate keeping costs down and prices competitive.

Broady Foundry produces castings in a wide range of non-ferrous metals with the required level of certification and non-destructive testing including, Dye Penetrant Examination, Radiographic Examination, Ultrasonic Wall Thickness Checking and other customer specific testing.  Metals currently offered to British, European, ASME, ANSI and Defence Standards include:

Broady Flow Control Limited offers the highest possible customer service starting with experienced design and technical support from the pre-order stage to delivery and beyond.  Using technologically advanced methods customer sketches and samples are interpreted into technical drawings for production and advice on alloy selection is available on request.

For the complete service Broady offers well equipped machine shops with extensive facilities for partial or full machining.  Recent investment has strengthened the range of machining facilities which includes conventional lathes, milling machines and state of the art CNC and semi-CNC machining centres.  Competitive prices are therefore offered for both single units and batch quantities.
