They are used primarily in the control of flows and pressures of saturated and superheated steam, air and gases as well as oils, water and other liquids. In addition to the range of standard valves, Broady produces specialist valves to customers’ individual requirements, using the wide range of industrial skills and test facilities available in-house for the manufacture of high integrity items having complex mechanical interfaces. To enable Broady to carry this out it maintains a drawing office using the latest Computer Aided Design equipment, which is linked to the manufacturing facilities. Also to complement the above, testing to most recognised standards can be performed and a full repair service is available for both Broady Flow Control and those of other manufacturers. Underlining our commitment to ensure continuous product conformity, a brand new, state of the art computerised test rig has been officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Hull. This will enable us to fully test our range of safety relief valves to ASME standards and help us obtain the “UV” code stamp. In those early days, a large proportion of the company’s work came from the Hull Docks in the form of a repair and installation of marine pipework on the local trawler fleet. By the early 1930’s Broady was manufacturing valves and cocks, having ascertained that there was a market for high-quality pressure reducing valves on the larger boilers which at that time were being installed in the trawlers. To accommodate this a whole new department was set up to manufacture pressure reducing and relief valves and from this period onwards the company has gone from strength to strength. Under the new Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Anthony Derrick, who recently bought the company from the existing owner and Chairman Mr John Griffiths, Broady Flow Control are currently undergoing an extensive modernisation/upgrade of its facilities which including the installation of the latest EFACS integrated manufacturing, financial and distribution software system tailored to our requirements and helping to ensure our customer care and service continues to be paramount. The company can assure you that our dedicated sales team are here to look after your requirements and to offer the most cost effective solutions possible for your applications, as well as to ensure that our reputations for Quality, Service and Customer Care are maintained.
